Midvale is a city rich with history, especially in its Old Town area, originally known as Bingham Junction. This historic district developed as an industrial center for mining and smelting, serving as a midpoint between the region's significant mining areas. To preserve its rich heritage, the Midvale Museum, founded in 1979, collects and showcases artifacts from the city's past, inviting residents and visitors alike to explore its unique history.

The Midvale Arts Council continues to foster community engagement with regular events in both performing and visual arts, and the annual Harvest Days celebration has become a beloved tradition for over 75 years. Held every August, Harvest Days is a week-long community festival featuring activities like a parade, block parties, games, and a spectacular fireworks show, bringing neighbors together in a warm, lively setting.
