Independence Park is Now Open for Play!
On May 24th, Mayor Timothy and Bluffdale City Council hosted a grand opening celebration, along with ribbon cutting ceremony, for the long-awaited opening of Independence Park. It is located in Independence at the Point, a thoughtfully designed master-planned community in Bluffdale, situated right off I-15’s 14600 South exit. This diverse community is comprised of single-family homes, townhomes, apartments, schools, and local church. Amenities include a network of open space areas, parks, basketball court, and sprawling trail system.
Independence park is beautifully landscaped with scattered pavilions and several areas to play, including a splash pad with colorful and creative spouts and sprayers. The playground includes multiple play structures with the Spacenet towering over the entire park. It is a large climbing rope structure with a two-story slide. All ages are able to enjoy the park with a variety of age-appropriate play structures for each age group. At the grand opening, even teenagers were able to have a little fun and were quick to gather around the zip line.
Even though storm clouds loomed throughout the afternoon, plenty of kids and families made their way to the festivities to partake in the fun. If they haven’t already, residents will find that Independence Park is valuable addition to the community. To experience it for yourself, check it out at 15245 South Noell Nelson Drive.
